Title: Welcome to UC Irvine! *** Academic Advising *** zot zot
X/X/XXXX
Dear New Physical Sciences Transfer Student:
Welcome to UCI and the School of Physical Sciences. We are confident that you can profit from the kind of intensive and stimulating educational experience that we are striving to provide for students on this campus. An important component of academic success is the careful selection of courses appropriate to your educational goals and background.
A hold has been placed on your Fall quarter enrollment. You will not be allowed to enroll in classes until you complete academic advising. There are two steps you must do to sign-up for academic advising (more info found here: https://ps.uci.edu/stuaff/content/new-transfer-students):
• STEP 1: ACADEMIC COURSE HISTORY FORM
Go to and complete the online Academic Course History form that tells us about your academic course history and courses you’ve taken/completed/or plan to complete in Winter/Spring/Summer 2019 terms. It is recommended that you complete step 1 as soon as possible. It is VERY IMPORTANT that this form is submitted accurately; what you submit will impact your ability to enroll correctly into Fall 2019 quarter when you arrive for an academic advising session. This could delay your ability to enroll into courses if you do not submit the form accurately. In addition, before you complete this form, you must have electronic copies of ALL unofficial transcripts (from all colleges/universities that you’ve attended) and your IGETC certificate (if available) in electronic format. PDF format is preferred. You will be required to upload all documents as part of the Academic Course History form.
When you have all electronic documents ready, you can proceed to the online Academic Course History form here: https://ps.uci.edu/stuaff/content/academic-course-history-form
• STEP 2: ACADEMIC ADVISING REGISTRATION FORM
On or after June 7th at 10:00am, register for academic advising at this website: http://ps.uci.edu/stuaff/content/new-transfer-students
You must then attend academic advising. On-campus Academic Advising sessions are offered as follows:
• June 20th, 9:00am-noon
• June 26th, 1:00pm-4:00pm
• June 28th, 1:00pm-4:00pm
• July 1st, 9:30am-12:30pm (this session is for Chemistry or Math majors only, please bring a laptop or tablet)
• July 8th, 1:00pm-4:00pm (this session is for Chemistry or Math majors only, please bring a laptop or tablet)
• July 10th, 1:00pm-4:00pm
• August 29th, 9:00am-noon
**Students who cannot attend any of the above sessions will have the opportunity to complete academic advising online after September 1st.**
Before you attend one of the Summer advising sessions, please do the following:
1. Activate your UCInetID and email (http://activate.uci.edu/activate/menu.html), which is necessary to enroll in classes.
2. Review the requirements for your major in the online UCI General Catalogue (http://www.editor.uci.edu/catalogue/).
3. Go to http://www.assist.org to see what UCI classes you have credit for.
4. Look at the Searchable Schedule of Classes and become familiar with it. (http://websoc.reg.uci.edu/perl/WebSoc)
5. Prepare a sample Fall schedule and show it to us when you come in.
6. Request that your previous schools send official copies of your transcripts to the UCI Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools by July 1.
7. Complete the T-POW pre-orientation website: http://orientation.uci.edu/tpow

Transfer Online Advising APPROVAL Email
Title: Approval: Online Advising for New Transfer Student
Dear XXXX,
You've been approved to complete online academic advising.
Your academic hold has been removed and you are now cleared to login to WebReg and enroll into your classes.
You will see two documents attached to this email that you should reference before enrolling:
1. Degree Checksheet: This is your updated document with transfer courses listed. This will tell you which degree requirements you've already met prior to transfer. Keep in mind that this document has been updated based on the information you've provided in the Academic Course History Form that you completed online. If there is an error on the degree checksheet, please send us an email and we will update this document internally. If you don't have IGETC, then you should refer to the general education portion on the second page of the degree checksheet.
2. Transfer Course Eligibility Form: Based on the information you submitted in your Academic Course History Form, we've put together a list of courses that you have satisfied the prerequisites and are eligible to enroll into. It is important to note that those courses with a ** are offered in Fall quarter. YOU SHOULD enroll into all courses that are listed on your form that are noted with "MUST ENROLL IN FALL". These courses may only be offered in Fall quarter, or may be prerequisites for future courses that you need to take in Winter/Spring quarters. If the recommended courses don’t total 12 units, then you should select another course (or two) from the list to reach this minimum. You should spend time reviewing the Major Information webpages, and UCI Catalog for course descriptions, to help aid you in your selection of additional courses. The links to these websites, along with links to the Schedule of Classes and WebReg can be located here: https://ps.uci.edu/stuaff/content/transfer-students-course-selection
You should enroll in your approved schedule today! Everyday more and more students are enrolling, thus we recommend you don't wait. If you fail to enroll in these courses, a hold could be placed on your record. We plan to check your schedule and enrollment in the next 1-2 weeks.
Problems with enrolling. If you run into problems with enrollment, please refer to the online advising presentation and tutorial for assistance; please do not send us emails with your enrollment problems. If you are unable to troubleshoot, ZotChat will be available every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon from 2:00pm-4:00pm to answer any enrollment related questions. All other questions not related to Fall enrollment should wait until Fall 2021 quarter begins. ZotChat can be accessed here: https://ps.uci.edu/stuaff/content/live-chat
We look forward to meeting you in Fall quarter!
