P/NP Policy for Change of Major into Physical Sciences
All students are required to take major courses for a letter grade. We recognize students may have taken Physical Sciences courses as P/NP before deciding to pursue a change of major/double major.
As an exception, for students interested in a change of major into the School of Physical Sciences, along with meeting all other change of major requirements, if you have taken a major course for P/NP please note the following policy:
- A maximum of ONE major course in which you receive a “P” can be counted toward your degree requirements.
AND
- If you have taken more than one major course and received a “P”, you may be required to take additional major courses for a letter grade to replace the P/NP courses. Physical Sciences Student Affairs will instruct you on which courses you need to take once you have been approved into the major.
