All new students must be advised by an academic counselor before they can enroll in classes for the fall quarter.
New freshmen attend a special summer orientation program called SPOP (Student Parent Orientation Program). It’s a two-day event which includes an overnight stay in one of the dormitories. Physical Sciences academic counselors conduct an advising session and help students register for their classes. Students also participate in workshops, social programs, and other fun activities during the two day program. All of the info can be found here: http://www.students.uci.edu/orientation/
New transfer students participate in a half-day academic advising session conducted by the Physical Sciences academic counselors. During this session, students learn more about their degree requirements, enroll in classes, and have time to explore the campus. (click here)
