An Evening with NASA Astronaut Tracy Dyson

Wednesday, January 15, 2025 | 07:00 pm | Arnold & Mabel Beckman Center of the National Academies of Sciences & Engineering
Event Details

Presenting a Free Public Lecture Discussing Her Experiences in Space: Six Months Aboard the International Space Station

WHEN: January 15, 2025 at 7:00 pm
WHERE: Beckman Center, UC Irvine Campus
HOST: AirUCI Institute

Dr. Tracy Dyson, a former postdoctoral scholar in Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine, has completed three voyages in space — in 2007 aboard the space shuttle Endeavour, six months in 2010 serving on the International Space Station, and six months on the ISS in 2024.  Tracy is returning to UCI to share her experiences in a public lecture at the Beckman Center adjacent to the UC Irvine campus.

This is an exceptional opportunity for the Orange County community, including schoolchildren age 10 and older, to see an astronaut in person (along with other distinguished scientists from UCI) and learn first-hand about science, space, and what it takes to become an astronaut.

This event is free and open to the public with ample free parking.  Auditorium seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and overflow rooms will be available with a video feed of the event.  For additional information, contact Melissa Sweet at 949-824-2628 or msweet@uci.edu.
