RESEARCH PROJECTS
- Atmospheric Chemistry:
As part of the GSHOX project whole air ambient and interstitial air samples were collected at Summit, Greenland, to investigate halogen chemistry occurring above and within the snowpack in the remote inland Arctic. Measurements of selected hydrocarbons are being used to investigate the presence of halogen chemistry based on perturbations of hydrocarbon ratios.
I am also actively involved in the ARCTAS NASA campaign, and use hydrocarbon relationships to investigate the presence of high latitude marine boundary layer halogen chemistry during ozone depletion events.
- Breath Gas Analysis:
Collaborating with the UCI Epidemiology department, we investigated the relationship between exhaled hydrocarbons in breath and oxidative stress.
