Gas Hydrate Formation in Janda Lab

JANDA LAB FOR HIGH SCHOOL & UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Click on the pages below to open the presentations created in Janda Lab by visiting teachers during summer outreach opportunities.

Understanding the Clathrate Hydrate is an introduction to gas hydrates and provides a foundational level of understanding for what a clathrate hydrate is, where they are found in nature, global implications, energy source implications and problems.  It is useful for those new to the concept of gas hydrates including middle and high school students and teachers.

Making a Propane Clathrate Hydrate introduces and explains each step of the process used to make gas hydrates in the Janda Lab.  Because this is a pdf of the original PowerPoint presentation created, the video links will not work.  Please email us if you would like a copy of the original PowerPoint to use with your classes.
