Career Path:
I started in pure science just following my interests, and conducted research in climate science, semiconductors, and quantum mechanics. I was hired into the aerospace industry to develop semiconductors for space, but grew my responsibilities until I covered the entire spacecraft platform (power, propulsion, attitude control, etc). I recently became a director but continue to spend about half my time doing space systems engineering.
