PhD in Earth System Science, UC Irvine, 2019
BS in Meteorology, Texas A&M University, 2013
My background is in meteorology and geology from Texas A&M University. I participated in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in 2012 that led me to the Earth System Science Department at UCI where I participated in ice core research. I graduated in 2019 from UCI and then began a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Global Monitoring Lab in Boulder, CO. There I researched how fires impact naturally emitted ozone depleting gases - an important issue for science policy.
I have been teaching college courses at various institutions since 2017. I have taught at UCI, as both a teaching assistant and as an instructor. I teach currently at Front Range Community College in Colorado. I am also a facilitator for equity and inclusion professional development.
I also work with an National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center as their diversity, equity, and inclusion program coordinator.
