Career Path: 

After graduating from UCI, I attended pharmacy school at UOP after a gap year, then completed residency training at UCSF. I served as Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator and Director of Pharmacy at a hospital in La Habra over a 17-year period. Health care was undergoing significant changes when I became Manager of Ambulatory Pharmacy at St. Jude Heritage Healthcare in Fullerton. I accepted a position at Kaiser Permanente in 2001 as a project consultant and transitioned to Project Manager for Kaiser's electronic health record, where I evaluated clinical information and preconfigured software to optimize safe and effective ordering of medications. After recently retiring from Kaiser, I currently coach pharmacists desiring to change their field of pharmacy. I have a volunteer faculty appointment with UCI School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and other schools of pharmacy.

Ideal Mentoring Relationship: 
At a minimum I meet individually with my mentees at the beginning of each quarter. In between in-person meetings I keep in contact by email, text and phone, depending on student preferences.
