B.S. Earth System Science & Sustainability Minor 2011-2015
Master of Urban and Regional Planning 2022-2024
I completed my B.S. in Earth System Science at UCI from 2011-2015. During undergrad, I was involved with TGIF through ASUCI, Solar Decathlon, research with the Center for Environmental Biology, and several on campus and off campus jobs. Upon graduating in 2015, I began working as a Staff Scientist for a small Orange County based environmental consulting company focusing primarily on environmental site assessments and remediation projects. In this position, I conducted fieldwork at sites across Southern California, implemented remediation strategies, analyzed data and wrote reports for submittal to regulatory agencies and clients.
After about two years as a Staff Scientist, I moved to San Diego while continuing to do remote contract work for my consulting employer. There, I began a full-time position as an Environmental Project Assistant supporting an environmental attorney with the management and development of impacted properties. In this role, I worked on a variety of projects including environmental due diligence for real estate acquisitions, site assessment and remediation, wetlands delineations, landfill gas mitigation, stormwater management, and spill/emergency response.
In 2020, I completed an Environmental Management Certificate through UCI Division of Continuing Education online while working. After gaining experience in the industry, I'm now pivoting to environmental planning and am pursuing a Master of Urban & Regional Planning (MURP) degree back at UCI (beginning Fall 2022). I am passionate about developing sustainable, equitable and resilient communities that improve the lives of people, fellow species and the environment.
