In one sentence, my current job function is to ensure that employees at my company are fairly compensated for their work.
My career path is anything but y = ax + b. It began with a position as a legal assistant during college. Upon graduation, I accepted a job as a software engineer. Afterwards, with the rise of data, I became a database manager followed by a move to a data analytics position. Ultimately, I landed in human resources in various positions, and have utilized quantitative techniques and technology to help improve human capital management. All of the jobs I have had do not seem to relate but, each and every single one has prepared me for the next opportunity. I have gained all of the required knowledge, skills, and experience for my current position through all of the positions I held throughout my career.
As Steve Jobs once said, "you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future."
Do your best today and be ready for whatever comes your way.
