Richard Henson is the Co-Founder of PhageTech, Inc. a research stage company based on novel diagnostic sensor technology developed by researchers at UC Irvine. As co-founder and former CEO of Source Scientific, he has over 30 years of experience in medical device development and manufacturing. He is the Co-Chairman of the Octane Foundation and a member of the Chancellors CEO Roundtable at UC Irvine. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Beal Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and an Expert In Residence for UC Irvine Applied Innovation. He has served on the boards of Halo Healthcare, a breast cancer diagnostic company; ResVeRx, Inc., a nutraceutical manufacturer and TWAComm, a telecommunications company. He is an investor in several other medical device firms.
PhageTech is using it’s unique technology to create in-vitro diagnostic tests that are dramatically less expensive, massively scalable, rugged and simple to use. This technology will enable diagnostic testing for underserved areas such as developing countries and will allow early detection of cancers and other conditions to be diagnosed far earlier then present methods.
