Atmospheric Chemistry is an area of active research and education at UCI. Research activities include: laboratory experimentation, field measurements from ship and airborne platforms, polar ice core drilling expeditions, and supercomputer numerical simulations. Scientifically, research spans a wide range of scales, from the fundmental behaviour of gas/aerosol interactions at the molecular level, to the complex problem of coupled atmospheric chemistry/climate modeling.
